Marguerite’s Conapto secures SEK 400m debt for new data centre in Stockholm

Luxembourg/Stockholm, 21 March 2023 – Conapto, the Swedish data centre operator backed by Marguerite, secured a SEK 400m term loan to finance the construction of a new data centre in South Stockholm.

Kommunalkredit acted as sole mandated lead arranger and underwrote  the 7-year facility.

Funds will be used to finance the fit-out of the first phase of a large 8,000 sqm data centre, which – once fully developed – will have 20 MW of power capacity. The facility will comply with best-in-class environmental standards, such as the use of 100% renewable energy and connection to the district heating network to reuse excess heat from its operations.

Since the acquisition by Marguerite in July 2021, Conapto has already added 2 MW of data centre capacity in Northern Stockholm. The first expansion was commissioned in August 2022. As a leading provider of sustainable data centre colocation services in Stockholm, the company benefits from solid commercial traction and recently signed a long-term agreement with a leading S&P 500 digital services company. The contract confirms Conapto’s readiness to secure sizeable contracts with well-established international companies.

“We are delighted to announce this financing with Kommunalkredit. We acquired the company with the ambition to carry out a large expansion plan consistent with our sustainable investment strategy. The debt facility enables us to capture the opportunity of adding additional data centre capacity in suburban Stockholm, a highly sought-after area by clients and investors,” said Michael Dedieu, Managing Partner at Marguerite.
