Our Strategy
Marguerite is a pan-European investor in long-life infrastructure focussed on greenfield and brownfield expansion initiatives. We focus on the resilience of our investments and their benefit to future generations. Sustainability considerations are deeply integrated into the investment process, with continuous and proactive asset management of sustainability issues throughout our ownership cycle. Marguerite utilises an integrated investment philosophy that is structured to address the unique characteristics of greenfield investing.
We integrate robust ESG screening as part of our eligibility criteria, continuously measure the positive impact of our investments, and proactively engage in sustainability management with all stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle. Our strategy and actions are founded on the following principles.
- Select investments against rigorous ESG criteria
- Comply with European laws and regulations and UN guidelines
- Forgo projects based on exclusion criteria that don't meet sustainability goals
- Continuously review eligibility criteria and anticipate new regulations
- Assess the intrinsic positive contributions of potential investments
- Measure the positive impact of each investment and their contribution to the UN Sustainabile Development Goals
- Improve performance of each investment against sustainability KPIs
- Consider non-financial aspects of an investment and its resilience to sustainability factors
- Follow worldwide recognised standards (UNPRI, GRESB and MSCI)
- Capture sustainability risks and opportunities
- Closely assess, monitor and update ESG action
- Disclose to investors sustainability-related principles and targets
- Integrate ESG criteria into each investment proposal
- Report regularly to investors on the progress of ESG KPIs
- Publish an annual sustainability report
